Global sponsors are set to back Scotland’s annual search for innovation and excellence in the crucial cyber security sector.

Hosted by the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC), the Scottish Cyber Awards – which is now in its third year of running – will see sponsorship come from an array of international names and leaders of industry.

The event has already confirmed big name support, from CGI, the world’s fifth largest independent IT and business consulting services firm as headline sponsor, alongside other key partners Clydesdale Bank, Symantec, Accenture and Trend Micro. Meanwhile DIGIT joins the supporters list as a media partner for the second year in a row.

All sponsor opportunities have sold out in record time for the event, which once again will take place at the Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh and will recognise businesses, academics and individuals committed to enhancing Scotland’s world-leading reputation in the fight against cyber-crime.

Mandy Haeburn-Little, Chief Executive Officer of the SBRC said: “It is fantastic to be able to announce our sponsors for this year’s Scottish Cyber Awards – and what an impressive line-up it is.

“To receive support from an internationally recognised company of such high calibre as CGI highlights the sheer importance of this industry and especially Scotland’s role within it.

“We’re truly delighted to have such a great mix of larger organisations and up and coming specialists supporting individual award categories, which will undoubtedly help to ensure that the awards are another great success as they have been in the last two years.”

Sponsors of each award category:

  • Best Cyber Start-Up: ECS
  • Best New Cyber Talent: Morgan Stanley
  • Outstanding Woman in Cyber: Clydesdale Bank
  • Leading Light Innovation Award: Accenture
  • Cyber Evangelist of the Year: Trend Micro
  • Cyber Security Teacher of the Year: SQA
  • Collaboration with Police Scotland: Police Scotland
  • Outstanding Cyber Team: Symantec
  • Best Cyber Education Programme: 7 Elements

Steve Smart, Senior Vice President, CGI UK said: “Scotland is rapidly becoming a world leader for Cyber Security talent and innovation and we’re thrilled to support this brilliant event as Headline sponsor, recognising those who are at the forefront of the industry.

“We’re very excited to discover the winners of all 11 categories and are looking forward to announcing the Champion of Champions 2018.”

The Scottish Cyber Awards will be held on Wednesday 28th November at the Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh.
